Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone' gets new version in celebration of the film's 20th anniversary

And fans of the Harry Potter universe can get ready, because here comes more magic out there! The Warner Bros. Home Entertainment announced this Tuesday (17) the arrival of a new version of the film 'Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone', 2001, the first feature in the franchise and which is completing 20 years since its release.

The new version will be in “Magic Mode Movie”, a more dynamic way of production that brings fans together allowing them to discover filming secrets, enchantments, spells, creatures, magical artifacts, trivia and more.

Almost like a making of, the production will also include commentary from director Chris Columbus, offering a candid and entertaining look at the production of the first film, deleted scenes, quiz testing your knowledge of some film topics and many other content.


The new format joins the huge list of content and productions in the Harry Potter universe, also known as Wizarding World, a fantasy film franchise based on the series of novels by the young wizard, written by JK Rowling. Within this fictional universe are also sequels to 'Fantastic Beasts', an award-winning play – 'Harry Potter and the Cursed Child' – and even Universal's theme parks.



The new version will be released this Tuesday (17) on the digital platforms Apple+, Google Play and Microsoft Play, worth R$ 34.90. The Blu Ray version will soon arrive as well.

According to the synopsis of the film, the story remains unchanged or unsurprising – which is a relief for the root fan – telling in a traditional way, but with more involvement, the trajectory of the orphan boy who discovers he is the son of two wizards and is invited to develop his gifts at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, where he discovers he is destined for great things and will face the most feared dark wizard, Lord Voldermort.
